Calgary: Northeast

calgaryne_b.png

Northeast Calgary is the home of many of the industrial and business districts in Calgary, however there are also residential developments as well.  The Calgary International Airport, Calgary Zoo, the Prehistoric Park and the Botanical Gardens are all located in the Northeast and Deerfoot Trail, a main thoroughfare through the City, runs through the Northeast, running north to Edmonton and south to Lethbridge. The trendy and boutique shopping area of Bridgeland is one of the newest up and coming inner-city districts in the Northeast and there are select multi-family development projects being constructed in this area in the City’s effort to revitalize its core. There are also development projects in the outskirt neighbourhoods. With the Calgary International Airport being in the Northeast, there are various hotel, convention and conference centre and entertainment facilities to service the needs in this area. For outdoor activities, there are 2 excellent golf courses as well as a biking/walking path and nature reserve that runs along Deerfoot Trail from the Zoo, extending north.

Also, on the outskirts of Northeast Calgary, construction has begun in the satellite hamlet of Balzac on a world-class facility that will include: a shopping centre, racetrack, casino, five-star hotel and business park. This will be a world renowned attraction and the Shopping Mall will be one of the largest in North America, housing various high-end and outlet shopping attractions, sure to pique the interests not only of the region, but globally as well.

Below are Northeast communities that currently have new building and development opportunities:
  • Bridgeland
  • Coventry Hills
  • Saddle Ridge
  • Taradale
